I have planned New Year’s day lunch for the 3 years before the Covid lockdown, and for the three years after so that everyone will have the opportunity to celebrate with friends. No one need stay at home alone for this holiday. My criteria for selecting a restaurant includes modest prices and the ability of the restaurant to accommodate a large group. This year I have selected Black Rock Bar and Grill. This event is targeting members of SAGE, Prime Gentlemen and their friends.

Even though it is a holiday, Black Rock has extended their ‘Early Bird’ menu for our group on New Year’s day providing us with many thrifty options. There are mahi mahi or shrimp tacos for $8.99; a cheeseburger for $9.99 or Angus bacon cheeseburger for $10.99; a six ounce serloin for $13.99; steak and shrimp for $18.99; and steak and lobster for $21.99 among the options. And Black Rock has some of the best ‘Happy Hour’ drink prices in Ft. Lauderdale. Domestic pints and bottle beer are $2.99; house wines and premium bottle beer are $3.99; and margaritas, cosmopolitans and well drinks are $4.99.
