Please notify me if you wish to attend = wildhybrid@aol.com \n \nMorikami’s gardens\, named Roji-en: Garden of the Drops of Dew\, were designed to be a living exhibit as an extension of the museum. Its six distinct gardens are inspired by\, but are not replicas of\, significant gardens of Japan. Designer Hoichi Kurisu has created a unique garden conceived and constructed in the spirit of the masters. \n \nThe 16 acres that surround Morikami’s two museum buildings include expansive Japanese gardens with strolling paths\, resting areas\, our world-class bonsai collection and lakes teeming with koi and other wildlife. The wider 200-acre park features nature trails\, pine forests and picnic areas. \n \nIn 2001\, Morikami completed a major garden expansion and renovation. The new gardens reflect major periods of Japanese garden design\, from the eighth to the 20th century\, and serve as an outdoor extension of the museum. According to the garden designer\, Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens\, with its unique gardens and collections\, is one of Palm Beach County’s most treasured cultural attractions. Located in a tranquil natural setting\, Morikami invites visitors to explore its many facets and discover Florida’s heritage and its connection with Japan. \n \nThe original museum building\, the Yamato-kan\, is modeled after a Japanese villa. It features a ring of exhibition rooms surrounding an open-air courtyard with a dry garden of gravel\, pebbles\, and small boulders. The museum’s architecture is inspired by traditional Japanese design. This movie is a rich and often thrilling trip into writer/director Lucio Castro’s personal understanding of how queer romance\, sexual pleasure\, and mind-expanding art can only flourish when we have enough room and receptivity to feel that everything inside us is either naturally or instinctively related. \nAdnan’s story is remarkable not only because he finds sex and art to be mutually expansive means of connecting with others. Rather\, what really stands out in “Drunken Noodles” is Castro’s knack for cultivating a shared gracefulness and air of possibility to unite scenes of pastoral beauty—leafy trees\, unpaved roads\, and a private brook\, too—with enchanting urban settings where strangers can find and seduce each other anywhere\, including city streets\, art galleries\, playgrounds\, and apartments. \n“Drunken Noodles” both is and isn’t a romantic drama since it’s more about how Adnan’s desires are fulfilled without necessarily serving a greater purpose or resolution. He finds a subtly profound pleasure in longing\, as well as in fleeting moments of connection with people and places that only ostensibly seem defined by oppositional relationships. Here\, Castro looks past those superficial differences and celebrates the everyday pleasures of making connections that can be felt without necessarily being fully understood. \n  \n
