The film  celebrates the progress that has grown from the Sexual Revolution while portraying a family that values kindness\, open communication\, and acceptance\, even when its members disagree. \nAt the heart of the film is Jimpa’s unapologetic embrace of his identity and his influence on Frances. Their relationship allows Frances to turn to their grandfather for guidance about relationships and sexuality\, reflecting a level of trust and openness within the family. Jimpa’s willingness to challenge social expectations—including his comfort with his aging body—embodies the film’s larger message: gay pride means rejecting shame and embracing who you are. \n
